Richard Sliuzas

Richard Sliuzas career began in Adelaide, Australia where he worked for a firm of Town Planning Consultants and later for a local government body as a Town Planning officer mostly involved in development control.

Since joining the International Institute for Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation in December 1983, he has held various positions in research and education and is currently Associate Professor in Urban Planning within the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and Geoinformation Management. He has been involved in numerous project activities abroad and over the last 10 years has been active in Egypt, Malawi, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Vietnam and China. Richard is a member and Coordinator of the International Committee of the GIS for Developing Countries network and is involved in several other national and international networks related to urban planning and Geographic Information Sciences.
