Hans Blom

Hans Blom (1945) Operates as an independent consultant on transportation and urban quality since 2000. Clients are Ministries, Regional and Local Authorities.

As Program manager Sustainable Logistics, on behalf of the National Initiative Sustainable Development (2000-2003)  Hans developed a program on sustainable transport with 10 projects: on fast transport by rail, a study on the future of container transport by inland waterways, developed a post-academic course, had developed a feasibility-measure and a effectiveness- measure for modal shift projects, developed a plan for sustainable transportation in the Brabant-region, helped logistic enterprises to develop a manifest on regional policy for sustainable transport.

Hans Blom was also manager of a plan for the national railways. Advisor on “market for accessibility” in the South-Holland region. Advisor on innovation in railway systems. Development principles for a transportation plan for the region Randstad. Scientific second opinion on the accessibility-studies for a new airport in the sea before the coast of Holland. Promotion of multi modal and efficient transport of goods. 

In 2005 Hans formulated a policy for urban transport for the six big cities in Syria, set up  the workplan for implementation, and established tender documents for the Damascus Metro.

2006 - 2009 advised the city of Enschede (150.000 inh.) on the strategy of its development,

Since may 2007 till 2009 Hans was member of the Procurement Advisory Board (PAB) of the A2 Real Estate / Tunnel Project  in Maastricht (€ 1billion). The PAB selected the number one consortium out of five to built this project.
