Graham Allan

Graham Allan is a Corporate member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He graduated in Geography at Birkbeck College, London University and was awarded a postgraduate Diploma in Town Planning by Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham.

His full time career, from 1969 until 2003, has been with the Local Government Planning service, addressing urban and rural issues. His last two appointments, spanning a period of 22 years, were as Assistant City Planning Officer for Newcastle upon Tyne City Council and Director of Planning Services for Eden District Council, Cumbria.

He is now involved, in voluntary and self employed capacities, with writing, publishing, events organisation, international planning, walk leading and digital photography.
